Otter has/had a friend with a full machine shop, who was going to mod the trailer basket/platform we got for my scooter. This was supposed to happen before Thanksgiving... then shortly after Thanksgiving... then before Christmas... then around New Year's... I just checked in with him... he's having an MRI of his back on the 5th, and will let me know when he's mobile.

*sigh*

(In case you're wondering... I have a mobility scooter that we got off craigslist just before Thanksgiving/Chessiecon 2016. It cost as much as renting a scooter for the weekend, and we anticipated using it to do things like go to the mall for shopping, or go to TurtleBack Zoo for Ingress missions, or anything else that required much walking for me. Unfortunately, we don't have anywhere at ground level to put it, and were going to keep it in the car so it was there for me to use, except just after the the turn of 2016->2017, Otter's back gave out and he couldn't lift it. Around October or so, he started looking into other ways to transport it, and hit on putting a hitch on the Forester that a friend gave us, and getting a carrier for it. The "proper" scooter carriers (that have ways to get them up and down) were too heavy for the Forester, so he got a 'basket' ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004JKGVQO/ ). This *still* doesn't solve the problem of me being able to get the scooter out of the basket, so he arranged with his friend to mod it for us. Once that's done, all I have to do is gain confidence/ability in driving again, and I'm moderately mobile, for some value thereof. ha. hahahahahaha.)
