Otter died 2017-12-08 circa 12:15. Official time examined and declared was 1:10 (that's what's on the death certificate). He's done, and I'm still catching up on sleep.
We don't want flowers. They're lovely, they smell nice, we don't have anywhere to put them, and eventually they go away and drop petals and make a mess that must be cleaned up.
If you feel you must spend money somehow:
He was highly offended at the way our current government is failing to deal with the plight of Americans on Puerto Rico after the hurricanes. Here is a link to donate to that far, far more directly than giving to a national or international organization.

He had esophageal cancer. Which could have been found earlier if he'd been seeing a doctor about the acid reflux he'd had (at least) since I met him. Here is a link to donate to an organization that is working on getting more information in the hands of the public about that.

Finally, no one else in our family is actively earning money at the moment. I'm not too proud to take cash from people for expenses over the next month or so. I'm doing some work every day to figure out what money is available to come to me (today's task: wait for callbacks from one pension fund, and from lawyer to help figure out what I need to do since there's no will) and as far as I know, we don't need groceries *today*, but bureaucracy grinds slowly. If you wish to give money directly to me, I have a paypal account, and I can figure out other things. Feel free to contact me directly in any of the ways that are available.
Wheee. :/
