- Dealt with a migraine, with C's help.
- Went to the eyeglass/exam place we've been going to for years
- received a phone call as I walked through the door from the HR person, who gave me the vision plan information, confirming it to be one that the eyeglass place doesn't accept.
- Had my eyes examined, including the glaucoma air puff grr and then
- drops put in to dilate things
- Talked about glasses while C had his eyes examined and my eyes dilated
- Had pictures taken of my retinas
- talked some more about my glasses
- had the pictures explained to me
- paid for various things on the exam side
- conferred with C re a friend's recommendation of zennioptical,
- decided his glasses weren't that expensive, I have money now, and it needs a bit more research before I feel comfortable doing that.
- finished doing glasses things and
- went to the diner for food.
Final report: The floaters in my eyes are fine. Due to them, they could bill my exam against medical vs vision plan yay. I also have a very mild, slow-growing cataract in my right eye, and the doc expects it to be years before it seriously affects my vision. The pictures of my retinas show some evidence of "mild issues" that can be produced by high blood pressure, high blood sugar, and stress. So the doc gave me some "only sold through doctors" supplements, which sound fine, 1 pill to take once a day, that should help the body recover from that, and she wants to see me again in 6 months. And she wants me to be better about taking the metformin and thyroid meds.
They also showed C the free frames, which he liked a few of and got one. They're replacing the frames for my bifocals for free, and re-using the ones for my computer glasses. In the meantime, they put the lenses for my computer glasses (which I use all the time in the house) in a set of plastic frames, cause they're easy to fit anything, so I can still use them cause it will be a few weeks for me to get my glasses cause I'm weird and insist on glass. Yee. Haw.
And I got no phone calls made today, and the lawyer never called me back either.
