Dec. 28th, 2017 04:35 pmThis week has been completely useless, in terms of getting this stuff done.
Monday, I took completely off. R made waffles forbreakfastbrunchlunch First meal of the day. Cooking the turkey took much of the rest of the day, with me playing sous chef and doing the chopping prep for the stuffing while C did dishes* and R took a break from the kitchen. Then I took a nap, and R took another break, and C did more dishes, I think, and then we ate. Our Housemate works for Wegman's, and they apparently wanted to do something nice for us, so Housemate negotiated food with regards to my black pepper allergy, and we ended up with a turkey (Housemate's coupon, but they wanted to give us ham and she knew I couldn't eat the ham, so she has the ham and gave us the turkey), Harvest Salad, Butternut Squash with spinach and dried cranberries, mashed potatoes, and green beans. R tossed a couple of baked potatoes in the oven cause the mashed ones had pepper in them, and I was careful in taking green beans off the top. The salad had tarragon vinaigrette dressing included in a separate tub, which was delicious. And there was cranberry orange relish which I didn't find out about till late Wednesday... R decided that next year we're having ham, cause turkey is too much of a pain. Dessert was an apple-walnut pie that R had gotten when she was out getting the stuffing ingredients, and cannoli cheesecake from Wegman's.
And then R&C&I went off to see Last Jedi; Housemate begged off cause she had to be up early in the morning.
Tuesday was a visit from one friend for lunch, and we went to the diner for food and had lovely conversation. While there, the people who were visiting on Wednesday asked if they could come over that night, instead, which was fine. They showed up shortly after the first friend left for the rest of their errands, and stayed till around midnight cause we were playing British Rails. Definitely should have started that earlier, I didn't expect it to take that long.
Wednesday was Migraine Day. Now, I've woken up with some level of migraine most of the days since the 8th, and usually the meds kicked it in an hour and I was down and functional. Apparently it was all being saved up tho; Wednesday the first meds didn't touch it, *and* I was stupid-sleepy on top. I got a hotpack wrapped against my neck, held in place by my robe, and went back to sleep, and I didn't wake up till 4:30 pm when I was poked about my meds. I didn't do anythign then, really, cause it felt like it was still lurking; I read a book and did some minor shuffling in my room (putting 2 loads of laundry away) and took another headache pill when I lay down sometime after midnight.
As requested, C tried to wake me around 10am. I vaguely remember that, as I ate some food adn took my meds and told him to come back in an hour. Which he did, and I sat up, and was falling asleep mid-word. So I told him to come back in an hour. Lather, rinse, repeat on shortened timeframes till about 1pm when I finally managed to be awake enough to actually come down the stairs. And then I got involved in setting up the desktop down here, which not only involved moving the monitors around to a usable position, but then also setting up an account for myself and various other yak shaving. Which suddenly made it 4:30, and I tried to make one phone call, and they were all gone so I give up for tonight.
And tomorrow we're going to refill my meds and then visit folks in Maryland for New Year's, so that's not useful for doing this stuff.
So I'm pulling forward the todo list and leaving it at that and gonna try not to worry about it.
*Yes, Otter got a dishwasher off craigslist. Apparently it occasionally needs percussive maintenance to get it to start, and sometimes R&C just give up and do them by hand.
